About

About John Griffiths

Since a very young age John was often pointing a camera either at people or places visited. Beginning with a simple '110' point and shoot, he later went on to use a Minolta SLR. As his interest continued and his skills developed John chose to use Canon SLR equipment begining with the Canon EOS 300 and later the EOS 30. John now uses a Canon 400D Digital SLR after using Fuji Velvia slide film for a good number of years. His passion for photography has turned mainly to capturing the wonders of nature all around us in the form of landscape photography.

Living on the border of the New Forest and the Dorset coastline John need not stray far to capture the marvels of a scenic countryside. Despite this, his travels have taken him far and wide with visits to Canada, Australia, Cornwall, South Wales and frequent visits to the Highlands of Scotland, all in the search of capturing nature at its best.

Undergoing only a City & Guilds in photography, John is very much self-taught, gaining information and techniques from magazine articles and photographic publications.

Inspiration for John's work comes from the images produced by landscape photographers such as Joe Cornish, Lee Frost, Guy Edwards and also Adam Burton, a good friend and fellow landscape photographer.

Although still in the early stages, John is continually expanding his portfolio and developing his skills in photography which we aim to display on this web site.

For many years John used the colour powerfull Fuji Velvia 50 slide film with its known punchy colour casting, but continuing with his passion in photography he now uses digital coupled with the EOS 400D along with the following equipment:
